I don’t know about you, but when I’m out of town and blissfully alone in my hotel room, I feel it’s OK to dispense with those little niceties that are necessary when sharing space with another person. Case in point – closing the bathroom door. If there isn’t anyone else in the room, what does it matter if the door is open or closed? Except…
It seems that when architects design hotels, they are compelled to stick the bathroom right next to the door to the room. Why? To insure that propriety is maintained by forcing you to close the door so noone else can hear you pee? Why not place the bathroom at the back of the room, away from the door? You could still have a window to the outside for light AND you could actually put a window in the bathroom that would allow you to vent all that accumulated steam after a shower. What a concept, eh?
I always thought that they put the bathroom there so folks out in the corridor couldn’t see/hear what was happenin’ on the bed… =:-o
